Without further ado, the race report.
Actual conversation:
Runner 1: Did Jeff Sheldon win today?
Runner 2: Yes! (In 30:50)
R1: Was he almost naked?
R2: Um, qualify "naked"?
R1: You know, with his shirt off?
Mercifully, this conversation was not repeated (to the best of this writer's knowledge) about any other runners this week. Mary Schafer won the women's side in 38:25 and with her shirt on.
There was great, extensive debate whether Squire reverse is more difficult than Squire regular. The course is not, but with the heat and humidity we all suffered greatly. Thanks to Birthday Boy/IceMan Charlie for the delicious ice stop on South Street. Eric learned his lesson and skipped breakfast this week. Please remember to run in the shade when its hot. Also remember to run downhill. Don't forget, one foot in front of the other. And remember, when someone yells "car!" move to the side of the road! Your fellow runners are not interested in scraping your smelly self off the road after you get run over.
There is no Roxbury Race next week, we'll all be in New Milford running the 5k or 8 miler. Hope to see you there! If you haven't signed up yet, do so here and avoid chaos at number pick up. online registration...
