Sheldon and Krebs win... again

Race Report by Mary Schafer

It was a cold day in Roxbury, but a little less cold than expected, and generally good for running down Hemlock. Jeff Sheldon won in 20:26 and Theresa Krebs won on the women's side in 25:08.

Jeff got out his armwarmers though why he doesn't just wear long sleeves we don't know. Brian made an appearance as a ninja and did some kung fu fightin' at the finish. That guy is fast as lightnin'. The twins returned for a second week with big knit hats but without their older sister.

The other Jeff continued with his trademark oh-so-80s look. For sure. Martin was back with a particularly nuanced layered look though his iridescent pants were missed. Eric is still in all kinds of pain but swears he is taking all of December off after the final Roxbury race. Sue returned for a significantly less dramatic finish and seems not to hate us at all. As usual, LeeAnne looked amazing with matching shirt, ear thing, and socks.

Question: why is someone building a house, by all indications on spec, at the bottom of Hemlock? Seriously. If anyone knows, please let me know.

Stefan has made contact and wants everyone to know that he is alive and well, but has "lost the trail" on his running. He swears he'll be back in 2011 to claim the Most Improved prize. Submissions for his new nickname will be accepted starting immediately.

If you are not running the Roxbury Marathon or Half Marathon, please consider volunteering to help out. There is still a need for volunteers for the finish line at the Marathon and for the entire event at the Half. There has been a lot of interest for both events so we will need lots of volunteers! Please sign up with Scott.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! If you're running the Race for a Cure/Turkey Trot, remember that the cost is $10 and starts at the Congregational Church at 9:30 am, or 9:15 if you're walking or 9:00 if you're a small child. The Saturday Roxbury Race will be down Chalybes, starting at the usual time and place. See you there!
