We're calling it: this was the first week of autumn running. The best season of the year for running! Our course? The popular Roxbury 5k, aka down and up Hemlock. Our $5 entry fees will go to support research for both autism and juvenile diabetes. This week's winners are Stosh Davis in 19:05 and Baerbel LoSacco in 22:26. While the Roxbury Record Books are not 100% accessible, it is widely believed that Stosh is the youngest Roxbury Race winner ever. It is also widely believed that Jeff was at home, softly weeping. Additionally, we note that Stosh enjoyed the highest return on investment of his $5 entry fee, which we assume was paid by Mr. Davis Sr.
Sharon and Janet aggressively elbowed their way through the start. Team McCullough made an impressive showing, with almost 10% of the total race field. Harry is back and with a new look that Paul will love. Speaking of, where is Paul? Probably seeking out his favorite coffee flavor, Chocolate Snickerdoodle Swirl, and begging someone, anyone to pour it for him. LeeAnne purposely did not wear her matching hat or visor this week. Brian did. And apparently Krystal's entire running wardrobe is coordinated with her shoelaces.
Next week, we meet at the Roxbury Pond for the Roxbury Land Trust Race. See you there! [Next week, the race does not start at Hurlburt park - instead - it starts at the River Road Preserve on River Road in Roxbury]
